Indian express.

This will be my last post for a while because I won’t be updating the blog while I’m in India.  To refresh your memory of Indian geography, here she is:

This is a photo of the framed world map that hangs in our study at home.   Since it’s my map, the starry stickers are places I’ve visited.  Funny aside, doesn’t China look like a big storm cloud about to rain on South and East Asia?  Yikes.

After landing and spending a short night in Mumbai, we’re heading on to my paternal grandparents’ home in Guwahati (pron. go-HAH-tee), which is the capital of the state of Assam in the very eastern part of India:

Then we’re off to my maternal grandparents’ home, which is near Cochin if you consider a 4 hour drive  into the mountains “near”!  Although this map doesn’t show state boundaries, Kerala runs along much of the southwestern coast of India:

And then as if that wasn’t enough travelling, we’re taking an overnight train from Kerala to Goa, which is south of Mumbai, for the “vacation” part of our vacation – relaxing at a beach resort and enjoying a large family reunion with all my aunts, uncles and cousins from my mom’s side of the family.

Catch you on the flip side…

Wow! Way to cover a sub-continent. Eeek at the “storm cloud!”
